Welcome to Exeter Day School.

Since 1939, we have had the privilege of nurturing preschool aged children in our community. Our beautiful and expansive location near downtown Exeter offers a quintessential New England school house charm.

Tucked away on a quiet street, EDS is located on Phillips Exeter Academy land. This allows our children & teachers access to the vast fields and trails to extend their outdoor experience. We also have two playgrounds; one playground focuses on gross motor experiences while our smaller playground offers hands on experiences with mud kitchens, painting, and creating in the sandbox. 

Our classrooms are designed to encourage wonder, exploration, independence and meaningful play. Our teachers aim to create a curriculum that has an appropriate balance of free play and structured learning.

Our goal is to provide a social and academic education for your child while supporting their individual needs. Our small class sizes make it easy for us to get to know your whole child.
