Two Positions are Open at Exeter Day School:  Associate Teacher and Administrative Assistant

 

 

Associate Teacher- Starting September 2026

Part-time (25 hours a week, Monday-Friday)

Hours are 8:15AM-1:15PM. 

Working with students ages 2-5

 

Our school is growing! Exeter Day School is looking to add a warm, engaging, and motivated educator to our community of devoted teachers. We are looking for a flexible individual with a desire to provide support to our Lead and Associate Teachers. Our ideal candidate can seamlessly float from one classroom to the next and feel comfortable jumping into a supporting role.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)

  • Meet Associate Teacher requirements based on NH Child Care Licensing Rules (Required)

  • Able to lift 50 lbs. (Required)

  • Must adhere to confidentiality

  • One year’s experience in a licensed center-based program is preferred.

 

Prior to Employment:

Candidate must complete and pass a background record check.

Candidate must complete the New Hampshire Health and Safety training, First Aid and CPR. 

 

Compensation and Benefits

$18-$24 per hour depending on education and experience.

Exeter Day School generally follows the SAU 16 Calendar - paid school vacation weeks, holidays and snow closures. Paid Time off is included. HRA is included. Health insurance is not offered.

In-house professional development required.

Administrative Assistant- Starting August 2026

We are seeking a warm, organized, and proactive Administrative Assistant to manage our front office and support the Director of Exeter Day School. The ideal candidate will foster a welcoming environment for families while managing daily clerical tasks and supporting staff.

 

Part-time (20-30 hours per week during the school year; 12 hours per week during summer)

Hours are between 8:30AM and 2:30 PM 

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Provide overall support for the Director, teachers, parents, and the governing board, as needed. 

  • Greet families and visitors warmly, answer phones, manage the main entrance and maintain a tidy, organized front office/reception area

  • Maintain up-to-date and confidential student files, including immunization records and required enrollment forms, in compliance with state regulations

  • Manage the student enrollment process; field inquiries from prospective families, provide tours of the facility, manage registration paperwork for school and camp

  • Generate school & staff communications, interacting positively with parents, staff and the public. This includes writing a weekly school newsletter.

  • Update website (in Wix) and maintain social media presence, including Facebook and/or Instagram accounts

  • Purchase necessary supplies for the office and teachers; track purchases in budget

  • Assist in facilities management with scheduling of contractors and gathering bids

  • Support the Director and teachers in maintaining DHHS and CDC compliance; participate in required emergency drills and trainings

  • Attend several school events outside of school hours (with pay)

  • Demonstrate diplomacy and confidentiality in dealing with sensitive issues

  • Complete other appropriate tasks assigned by the Director

 

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts receivable and payable

  • Issue registration fees, tuition and other fees to families in the Brightwheel platform

  • Support tracking of the budget as directed by the Director 

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Associate degree or higher preferred

  • Must possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe required

  • Website experience (in Wix) required

  • Brightwheel (childcare management software) experience preferred

  • Canva experience (or comparable) preferred

  • Ability to work under pressure, juggle multiple tasks, and maintain a calm demeanor

  • Must pass a background check and meet state licensing requirements

  • Able to lift 50 lbs

  • Must complete New Hampshire Health and Safety training (9 hrs) and First Aid/CPR training (5 hrs)
