Pre-K Program: Children Age 4

In this classroom, children will be able to express themselves as individuals while also working together as a team. There is a wide variety of activities provided to help foster their love of learning. I want the children to enjoy learning with hands on experience and play. I believe, with a balance of structure and play based learning, the goals we achieve can be endless.
Moving around the classroom through centers, the children will have exposure to writing, reading, math, science, art, building, sensory and social aspects. Our dramatic play area hosts many real life scenes such as kitchen/doll play, fire station, class restaurant, post office/office and grocery store.

As a teacher, I seek to incorporate classroom and curriculum themes that interest my students. Our classroom becomes a reflection of our unique backgrounds and personalities. In the fall, we start off learning  about each other in our All About Me unit. Then, move on to Apple & Pumpkin Life Cycles. In the winter, we head to the Arctic and back to the time of Dinosaurs. By Spring, we are ready to travel to Outer Space and then back home to learn all about Nature. In between these fun themes, we add in many smaller units to explore based on interests and what is going on around us in our community.

Every day, we spend a significant amount of time outside. We are fortunate to have 2 amazing playgrounds and the PEA trails to utilize as well for outdoor play and learning. At the end of the school year, I wish for each child to leave my class ready for the next adventure in life!

Offered: Five-day program, Monday through Friday,

8:15 AM-1:00 PM.
